Thomas Bevan

4 allegations against Thomas Bevan were found to be credible in November 2009. Thomas Bevan was included on the Archdiocese’s list of accused after criminal charges were filed in February 2010 and a plea agreement later in October 2010. One settlement was reached against Thomas Bevan in July 2017.

John Yoder

John Yoder died in 1997. Over 100 women allegedly faced unwanted sexual violations from Yoder. He resigned as a theology professor in 1984. Yoder never faced any legal charges despites the allegations.

Edward J Maloney

Edward J Maloney was added to the Archdiocese’s list on January 14, 2010. He is alleged to have sexually abused two boys in 2007 and 2008 while assigned to a Parish.

Shawn Gooden

Shawn Gooden was arrested in September 2022 and jailed last year on charges of forcible sodomy and aggravated sexual battery of a minor. The abuse allegedly happened in Virginia.

Peter Van Der Linden

Peter Van Der Linden was named as accused in October of 2002 by the Archdiocese. He was removed from ministry in May of 2005.

Fr Joe Gatto

Fr Joe Gatto was promoted to president and rector of Christ the King Seminary. Despite this, Gatto was added to a list of over 100 priests accused of sexual misconduct.

Father John Ryan

Father John V Ryan was named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list in February 2022.

Kevin Lonergan

Father Kevin Lonergan was included on the diocese’s list of credibly accused in December 2020 and was forced to register as a sex offender.

Bishop Hoeppner

Bishop Hoeppner resigned after interfering with clergy sexual abuse investigations. Bishop Michael Hoeppner was asked to resign by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Crookston

Bishop Thomas O’Brien

Bishop O’Brien was accused of repeated sexual abuse of a boy from 1977-1982. Diocese was notified in September 2016.
