Archdiocese Of Santa Fe Accused Of Keeping Priest Abusers Off Public List

On February 20, 2024 the Albuquerque Journal released a news article highlighting a New Mexico Archdiocese’s failure to follow through with the terms of a bankruptcy settlement In December 2022. As part of the agreement the Archdiocese of Santa Fe is accused of not publicly posting the names of clergy who were accused of abuse from a claim that was filed during the Archdiocese’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.

The case was centered on father Richard Spellman who according to allegations, abused a woman in 1957 when she was a child.
